Some exciting updates

Lal has relocated to the Sunshine Coast

Lal HQ has relocated from my parents’ basement in Chelsea, QC to the Sunshine Coast in BC! I’m renting this 150m2 industrial space in Wilson Creek (which is near Coast Gravity Park, for reference) and I’m living in Roberts Creek. Now I can have folks join the company, which is in the process of happening and I’m super excited about it. I’ve been busy tooling up the shop since I arrived in early April. In the coming months, manufacturing of the Supre Drive parts will start happening here. It’s awesome to be located in mecca of mountain biking that is coastal BC, with top notch trails riding distance from the shop.

The efficiency of the Supre Drive has been measured

I recently got an opportunity to measure the efficiency of the Supre Drive in Germany using equipment at a company called UT, which is owned by Kalle Nicolai. To see the results, head over to lalbikes.com/efficiency, where you’ll be able to access a page about efficiency. One of the takeaways from the results is that the Supre Drive is more efficient than other drivetrains with an idler pulley. In other words, it’s more efficient than other high pivot bike drivetrains. This leaves very little argument in favor of high pivot bikes not having the Supre Drive. I recommend that you check out lalbikes.com/efficiency if you’d like to find out more and see the percent efficiency results.
